Built on the collective talents of Robert Altman and Lyndrey Holder, NE1 also have the skills to make your head bob to a more danceable groove. Their sound is reminiscent of acts like Tricky and Goldie, but, informed by rhythm and blues, soul, and hip hop, their electronica-tinged emotional sound — a combination of synth, piano, bass, voice, and production — is unique. Despite their ambiguous and near-anonymous moniker of NE1, this music could not just be created by anyone. As you’ll soon hear, their singular style and sound is all theirs.
